Hello to Everyone in the Northeast Region of Folk Alliance!! (NERFA) I would first like to wish you all a happy spring and all the best in your musical endeavors for 2010! NERFA is very excited about this coming year as we look forward, not only to our regional conference, (Nov. 11-14) but also to all that is taking place in the Folk Alliance International community. On behalf of Dianne Tankle, our fearless Conference Leader, I want to let you know that we will be adding all the info you need for NERFA 2010 to our website sometime in June. Included will be Formal and Tricentric Showcase applications, Guerilla Showcase info and, of course, Registration dates and prices. We will also have a form you can fill out with workshops proposals. I do have a favor to ask you all. Would you email us right now with some ideas/topics you might want to see used for our workshops? This will give us some early ideas and a chance to ask folks in our community to come out and be panelists. Please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and place “workshop idea” in the subject heading. While I have you….perhaps you could also let us know of some venues you would like to see attend the conference who either have never been or have not been in some time. THANKS!! Another great thing happening now is all the Regional Boards are working on a universal agreement with Folk Alliance International. This will secure our working relationship with FAI and give all the regions the opportunity to work together to help promote the FAI mission! If you are not already a Folk Alliance Member, now is a great time to make that happen. If you are, please help us spread the word about our community to all the folks in the biz - send them to the FAI website at http://www.folk.org/ Thanks for your time and we look forward to hearing from you. I personally cannot wait for this year’s conference!! PS: Please visit us on Facebook and Linkedin See you on the road!!
