Rich Warren began his career in folk radio in 1968 and joined WFMT in Chicago in 1974. Since then he has recorded over 1,000 folk concerts, produced numerous programs and has hosted and produced The Midnight Special since 1983 and Folkstage since 1995. He also wrote for and reviewed CDs for Sing Out! from 1992-2008. While working in radio, Warren also wrote for the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, Chicago magazine and numerous other publications, such as Stereo Review and Sound & Vision. He was voted Folk DJ of the year by Folk Alliance International members in 2008 and also served on the FAI board.
